Join NDL this Wed. 2/8 at 6:45 PM on Zoom for "Secrets of Oudolf Garden Detroits Master Designer"

Hello all, Northville District Library (NDL) is hosting Ms. Deborah Chud online via Zoom for the presentation, "Secrets of Oudolf Garden Detroits Master Designer," this coming Wednesday, February 8 at 6:45 PM. Not familiar with Piet Oudolf or Oudolf Garden Detroit? That's okay! Deborah will present an introduction to the design principles of the leading naturalistic designer in the world and the designer of Oudolf Garden Detroit. Piet Oudolf is an internationally renowned Dutch garden designer, author, and horticulturalist who is the leading figure of the "New Perennial" movement.. An all-volunteer grounds crew runs this 3-acre public garden located on Belle Isle. According to Oudolf Garden Detroit's website, the garden "is divided into three district areas; the Main Garden, the Rain Garden, and the Meadows," Oudolf chose perennials, shrubs, trees, and grasses because of their robust characteristics, their resilience, and changing colors and textures throughout the seasons in Michigan. About our Speaker: Deborah Chud is a retired Massachusetts physician turned garden maker, consultant, and educator, who specializes in coaching home gardeners in person and virtually. Her years of research on the world's most famous New Perennial gardens (including New York's High Line, Chicago's Lurie Garden, the Oudolf Meadow at Delaware Botanic Garden, and Oudolf Garden Detroit)have generated a unique database of New Perennial plant combinations and fostered the creation of her own highly unusual New Perennial garden.
