Smithsonian Exhibit Coming to Michigan in 2026

Good afternoon, Michigan Humanities is excited to announce that a new Smithsonian Museum on Main Street exhibit, Americans, is coming to Michigan in 2026. Through the Museum on Main Street program, Michigan Humanities is coordinating the exhibit’s tour throughout Michigan and is seeking six partner organizations located in communities of under 20,000 people to host Americans. Selected sites will host the Smithsonian exhibit, work with local partners in their community, and create additional programming to support the exhibit. Attached is the Request for Proposal, which contains full information about the exhibit and what hosting it entails. You can also visit our website<https://www.michiganhumanities.org/smithsonian-museum-on-main-street/> for more details and to apply. Please reach out to our Director of Grants, James Nelson via email at jnelson@mihumanities.org with any questions.
