Please join us at the Library of Michigan [cid:image002.png@01CFE239.309FB560] Presenting at 1:30 will be Sandy Bryson & Brandon Schroeder on the Great Lakes Fisheries Heritage Trail The Great Lakes Fisheries Heritage Consortium reflects the work of a statewide network of organizations collaborating beyond restoration and preservation of fisheries heritage artifacts to envision and implement strategies for how these assets can be more ambitiously leveraged in advancing coastal tourism, community development, and Great Lakes literacy and stewardship through education and interpretation. Sandy Bryson is the Secretary of the Board of Directors, Michigan Maritime Museum and chair of its Grants Committee, which recently wrote a successful Coastal Zone Management grant application to restore the Museum's 1939 wooden, gill-net fish tug, the Evelyn S. He serves as the Museum's representative to the Michigan Fisheries Heritage Consortium. Brandon Schroeder is a Michigan Sea Grant Extension Educator who works with coastal communities in northeast Michigan to apply science-based knowledge to address Great Lakes issues locally. His Sea Grant Extension efforts involve fisheries science, sustainable coastal tourism development, and Great Lakes education. He provides co-leadership for the Great Lakes Fisheries Heritage Consortium and newly established Great Lakes Fisheries Heritage Trail in Michigan.
