The Library Director will assist the Library Board with policy and planning; provide appropriate leadership for the Board and staff; lead and encourage a professional, dedicated and effective staff supporting library goals and objectives; prepare, manage and administer the Library's budget; understand and support the Library's fundraising efforts through the Foundation and Friends of the Library; works with other libraries and library organizations; works with local organizations and local government; develop new services, programs, and technologies promoting Library use; and works to enhance the Library facility and grounds. Minimum qualifications include a Master's Degree in Library and/or Information Science from an ALA-accredited program, a minimum of five years of public library administrative experience in a comparable library system, and experience in personnel supervision, strategic planning and budget preparation and management. Desired qualifications include a thorough knowledge and understanding of library administration; knowledge of legislative, legal and financial matters affecting district libraries; and a commitment to high professional, ethical and service standards. Successful experience reporting to a governing Board and facility renovation/building experience are preferred. Compensation. The starting salary range is $105,000-$120,000 (with placement dependent on experience and qualifications) with a competitive benefits package.
