PLEASE SHARE FREELY!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2013 Michigan Broadband Conference Thursday, October 24, 2013 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Kellogg Center 219 South Harrison On the Campus of Michigan State University East Lansing, Michigan The 2013 Michigan Broadband Conference will bring together community leaders from education, libraries, economic development, local government, healthcare, and technology sectors to share and learn cross-collaborative best practices for expanding broadband and technology access, adoption, and use and move Michigan to the forefront of the digital economy. Nationally recognized broadband and technology experts will join local leaders to provide attendees with best practices and insights into leveraging technology for improved community and economic development, education, healthcare, and workforce development. Actionable information and case studies will be provided to empower participants to work with local stakeholders and broadband providers in their communities to expand technology access, adoption, and use. Featured Keynote Speaker: Blair Levin Blair Levin became Communications & Society Fellow with the Aspen Institute Communications and Society Program on May 10, 2010, following his departure from the Federal Communications Commission, where he served as the Executive Director of the Omnibus Broadband Initiative. In his role at the Federal Communications Commission, Mr. Levin oversaw the development of a National Broadband Plan, a project mandated by Congress in the America Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Mr. Levin rejoined the Commission in June, 2009, after eight years as an analyst at Legg Mason and Stifel Nicolaus. As Barron's Magazine noted, Levin "has always been on top of developing trends and policy shifts in media and telecommunications ... and has proved visionary in getting out in front of many of today's headline making events."
