Looking for chair recommendations

Good Afternoon, We are currently looking to replace our Community Room chairs. Has anyone purchased chairs recently that they would recommend? Have you bought chairs we should stay away from? We are also interested in any critique on the carts or dollies that came with the chairs. Thank you, Laura Laura Fromwiller, Director Brandon Township Public Library (248) 627-1474

Hi Laura! At Otsego District Library we replaced our program room chairs with these: https://www.bizchair.com/products/880-lb-capacity-ultra-compact-stack-chair-... We got around 150 chairs in 2017 and haven’t had a single chair break or any problems, with all of the general public using them all the time. I have been super happy with them and I would definitely order them again in the future. They are lightweight and easy to stack, and have the nice handle on the top which makes moving them around your room very simple. They are plastic and easy to clean. We wanted lightweight chairs because we are constantly stacking and unstacking them. Other Library Directors have also commented to me that they love our program room chairs for how light they are. The dollies we got are these: https://www.bizchair.com/products/sled-base-stack-chair-dolly-with-steel-fra... We changed out the casters to more heavy duty casters because we constantly move them. They would work as is if you are not moving them a lot but if you do a lot of rolling of the dollies like us you would want to switch out casters. It was a simple switch out by our maintenance man with some beefier casters from Home Depot. Andrea Estelle, MLIS Brighten the Corner Where You Are! We recently purchased stackable church chairs for our main branch meeting room. I also purchased these for a large meeting room at another library in the past. We did not purchase the cart, but they are lightweight and stack very nicely. If space is tight, you can also connect them together in rows. They are especially nice because they are sturdy and hold people of all sizes comfortably. If you show films they are great for sitting in for an extended period of time because they have comfortable seat cushions and higher backs. The upholstery cleans up nicely. I think this will be my go-to for meeting rooms going forward. https://www.churchchairs4less.com/collections/18-5-church-chairs Kimberly White Director Shiawassee District Library 502 W. I'd actually like to not recommend a chair: Haworth's Very Wire Stacker chair (https://www.haworth.com/na/en/products/healthcare/very-6.html) They are not particularly comfortable to sit in for longer periods. They are also very difficult to stack properly, and if they're not stacked correctly the legs can break. On Tue, Jul 30, 2024 at 11:33 AM Kimberly White via Michlib-l < michlib-l@mcls.org> wrote:
