Employment Opportunity: Youth Librarian II (West Bloomfield Library)

The West Bloomfield Township Public Library has an opening for a full time Information Services Librarian (Youth) at the Main Library: Librarian II – Full Time (35 hours per week). Includes evening and weekend hours (Saturday/Sunday). QUALIFICATIONS: MLIS or equivalent from an ALA accredited library school; public library experience; interpersonal/communication skills; considerable experience in youth collection development; demonstrated competency with information technology including digital resources, online catalogs, the internet, social media sites, mobile devices; demonstrated ability to implement projects, programs and/or services; commitment to public service; regularly reads and has knowledge of current and popular authors; monitors mainstream and professional media. RESPONSIBILITIES: Youth collection development; reference and reader’s advisory; marketing of programs and assigned collection areas; assists with programs and outreach activities; provides instruction and support for patron’s use of eMedia resources and devices; serves on library committees; other duties as assigned.
