
*Job Opening – Library Director* We are seeking a Director for the Frankenmuth Wickson District Library, the public library serving the City of Frankenmuth, Frankenmuth Township, and portions of Blumfield Township. Frankenmuth, best known as a thriving tourist town in Michigan, is also a city of significant services for its residents. The school district ranks high within the state and nation. Frankenmuth has its own city fire department, police department, numerous medical services, and an array of restaurants, churches, stores, and recreational and other services within its borders. The library features an extensive array of programming for all ages, and the staff includes several part time librarians and two full time librarians who are specialists in Children’s and Youth Programming, an important part of the library’s services. The library’s website is https://www.wicksonlibrary.org. *Job Requirements and Preferences*** The Library Director works under the supervision of the Library Board of Trustees. The Director needs proven skills in the areas of public finance, collection development, managing and eliciting the best from all library personnel, facilities maintenance, grant writing, and community outreach. Qualified candidates must possess an ALA accredited Master’s Degree in Library Science or appropriate cognate degree, and to possess or pursue certification with the Library of Michigan, along with at least three years of administrative or supervisory experience. Additional qualifications include knowledge of current trends, resources, and advancements in library science, as well as highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
