program/author recommendation

I wanted to share this awesome opportunity to have one of our own home grown authors speak at your libraries. Tim Ellis and Brad Blair, along with other members of the UPPRS and Eagle Radio, have been amazing to our libraries over the years. I can't recommend them enough for programs about their investigations, their book, their radio show, The Creaking Door, and many other fantastic possible events. Tim even was the emcee for our infamous Pie Eating Contest this summer. His personality and love of libraries make him the perfect presenter for your library. Can you tell how much I respect this guy? I have attached a press release about their book, with his contact information. I hope you all share this fun program with your community of patrons! Hi Mich-Lib! I just wanted to share that we hosted Journalist, professor and Author Joe Grimm at Lyon Township tonight and he was fantastic. He discussed the Faygo Book, his previous book a bit, various Michigan history facts, and was so delightful and engaging. Our crowd laughed and reminisced about interesting aspects of the Faygo company they remembered through the years. And we learned some shocking information as well. He brought what he calls his traveling museum of Faygo things with him, and patiently answered everyone's questions. I highly recommend hosting Joe if you haven't already; I know many libraries have! Hey, all: The Emmy award-winning duo of Page Turner Adventures will be at the Music Hall in Detroit the first weekend in October. I've seen them--they're wonderful with kids! And they bring lots of cool steampunk contraptions with them. Anyway... I know them and I know they'd love to add a library or school onto this trip up north. (They're located in Florida.) So take a look at their site. And if you know of any schools looking for book-themed performers, please pass the word along to your teacher patrons. Info here: http://pageturneradventures.com/ And do contact them ASAP if you're interested. I recommend them highly!
