RAILS: Boundless (B&T) eBook Platform Transition to The Palace Project
All, We are sharing this non-Michigan news for Michigan libraries that may be using the Baker & Taylor Boundless (formerly Axis360) eBook platform. RAILS (Reaching Across Illinois Library System) is a very large consortium providing service to its 1,200 northern Illinois member libraries [ https://railslibraries.org/ | https://railslibraries.org/ ] In light of the ongoing wind down of B&T, RAILS will be transitioning its eBook platform from the Boundless app to The Palace Project [ https://thepalaceproject.org/ | https://thepalaceproject.org/ ] TLN negotiated statewide discounted pricing for The Palace Project at the Columbus, OH PLA conference in Spring, 2024. [ https://librarytechnology.org/pr/31882 | https://librarytechnology.org/pr/31882 ] The above linked press release notes that the Boundless app will stop functioning and be fully retired on November 17. I haven't gotten official word from B&T regarding that date, so it is possible that November 17 is the date on which RAILS will disable access to the Boundless app, as opposed to the date on which the Boundless app will sunset. Just sharing the above as another point of information in the ongoing, sad saga that is B&T.
