NASA @ My Library STEM Workshops - https://libraryofmichigan.z2systems.com/np/clients/libraryofmichigan/eventLi... Laurie Bone, Senior Curator of Programs at Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium, will be providing a hands-on workshop for public library staff. These STEM workshops will cover the following content: • Overview of relevant astronomy terms and concepts • Strategies for effective deliver of STEM based activities for kids of all ages (children, teen, adults, families) • Ideas for Astronomy activities that librarians can use while developing their program plan • Materials to support at least one of the activities will be provided for each library. (1 per library in attendance) Materials will be provided for each participant to do the activities. This provides an opportunity for the librarians to practice doing the activity, have conversation with the group to identify ways to expand or customize the activity to better fit individual needs, and will provide each participant with a sample project for use in programming. NASA Facilitation kits will be available in the near feature from LM for libraries to borrow. If the workshop nearest you is full, you can either join the waitlist or attend at a different location. Cost is $25/person.
