Newsletter/website message Election Alert Many Michigan communities to host elections November 5 School districts and communities in 69 counties will hold elections on Tuesday, Nov. 5. To find out if your community has an election or to view a sample ballot, visit the Michigan Voter Information Center at www.michigan.gov/vote<http://www.michigan.gov/vote>. The polls will be open statewide from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you're not registered to vote, it's not too late. Changes passed by voters last November allow voter registration until 8 p.m. on Election Day at your city or township clerk's office. You'll need to provide proof of residency in the form of a driver's license or personal ID card, utility bill, bank statement, paycheck, government check or other government document. It must include your current address. All eligible and registered voters in Michigan can also vote absentee without having to provide a reason.
