This is a reminder that the New Director and the Advanced Director Workshops are scheduled for the following days in September: New Director - Thursday, September 17 Advanced Director - Friday, September 18 Registration will open and agendas will be posted for these events in early July. Attendance at these workshops is necessary for director certification as part of the qualification criteria for state aid to public libraries. Current standards for state aid for public libraries require: Classes 1 - 3: The director shall complete the New Director Workshop within 1 year of initial directorship appointment. Classes 4 - 6: The director shall complete the New Director Workshop within 1 year of initial directorship appointment and complete the Advanced Director Workshop within 2 years of initial appointment.
