Learn about technology you can use from MLA

If you've ever wanted to make your reference data collection more efficient, you'll want to take in "Creating Value to Show Value: Efficient use of the 'free' Libanalytic Dataset from SpringShare," one of several practical and immediately useful topics on the ticket at this year's MLA Technology and Trends event, May 16 at Oakland University Libraries. This session will demonstrate how to use SprinShare-LibGuides' free libanalytic dataset to collect statistics on more than one service aspect of an academic library's reference department. You'll learn how to construct the data collection form to record statistical data for all services provided by your reference department; the example will be Zahnow Library, Saginaw Valley State University. Technology and Trends 2014 is set for 9 a.m to 4 p.m. and will include eight technology-you-can-use sessions as well as keynote remarks by Kristin Fonticharo of the University of Michigan. Registration is open!
