*Employment Opportunity* *Northern Michigan University - Lydia M. Olson Library* *Library Systems Development & Support* Northern Michigan University is seeking applications for a Library Systems Developer/Support. The position is responsible for programming, software development, and system integrations for the library, archives, and the Center for Teaching and Learning using various programming languages and related tools and frameworks. This includes interpreting architecture and design, evaluating code, development, testing, and release. Plan, recommend, install, support, and maintain the libraries and archives operating systems, software applications, hardware, and peripherals. Act as a system administrator and network administrator providing training, reports, data, and support that will enhance decision-making for the offices being supported. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Science, Mathematics-Computer Programming, or related computer science field. Two years of experience with programming, APIs, or related experience. Three years of work experience in implementing, administering, and supporting information systems. Three years' work experience evaluating, supporting, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and operating systems (e.g., Windows, IOS, LINUX). Required knowledge/skills/abilities: Basic understanding of front-end technologies and platforms (e.g., Javascript, HTML5, CSS3). Proficient knowledge of back-end programming languages (e.g., PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, Javascript). Experience with programming utilities and tools such as Git. Experience with data migration, transformation, output, and scripting. Ability to manage user authorization and authentication between multiple systems, servers, and environments. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to establish collaborative working relationships. The position is traditionally Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with occasional evening and/or weekend work required. The targeted salary range is $60,000-$63,500.
