Delta College is seeking a Reference Librarian who is committed to the college's philosophy that education serves the greater good by providing students access to a better life. We are seeking a Reference Librarian who embraces the idea of helping students achieve their goals, and approaches academic excellence as evidenced in equity as a moral imperative. The librarian position is responsible for reference and research assistance; collection development in specified areas; information literacy instruction; digital learning materials creation; and technology initiatives. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING: DIGITAL & INFORMATION LITERACY * Provide reference assistance to assist in research, referral, and technology assistance questions in a variety of modalities * Develop and promote library and information literacy instruction in a variety of modalities; provide and assess instruction sessions * Create, conduct, and present workshops for faculty, staff and students * Participate in digital learning materials creation (ie: online tutorials and guides) and support, as well as in technology initiatives FACULTY OER SUPPORT SERVICES * Assist faculty in locating OER books and materials * Work with faculty to compile resources into an OER text STUDENT SUPPORT FOR ONLINE INSTRUCTION * Technology assistance (including OER) * Online laboratory kits distribution and assistance DEVELOPMENT & ASSESSMENT OF COLLECTIONS & SERVICES * Share in collection development by selecting and maintaining diverse collections in books, e-books, periodicals, and databases for specified areas of library resources. * Assist in development and management of library website and online database troubleshooting * Collect and interpret library usage statistics * Plan and execute library marketing and outreach efforts including digital and physical displays, signage, activities and events STUDENT ASSISTANTS * Assist in training and supervision of student assistants COLLEGIALITY/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT * Contribute to campus belonging, equity, diversity and inclusion efforts * Represent Delta College with a collegial, service-oriented approach; work effectively as a team with library staff and student assistants; and as an individual show initiative in planning and executing position responsibilities * Serve on library, organizational, and college committees * Participate in professional development opportunities to expand knowledge of library trends and resources Other duties as assigned; evenings and weekends may be required. Required Qualifications * Master's degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited program * 1-3 years of position related experience Additional Experiences Considered * Experience in an academic setting is preferred but not required Application Deadline Position will remain open until filled.
