Hi everyone, For summer reading this year the youth department at the William P. Faust Public Library in Westland decided to do something extra for this year's theme. We are teaming up with UNICEF Kid Power to make this year's Summer Reading theme "Build a Better World" a reality! We came across the UNICEF Kid Power bands while searching for summer reading ideas and we thought they would be a great way to emphasize to kids one way to make the world a better place! We (youth staff) are dividing into three teams to compete in a friendly competition to see which team can reach the largest step goal between the start and end of our Summer Reading Program. For each step taken while wearing the UNICEF Kid Power bands we will help to unlock lifesaving food packets for kids in need around the world! The kids at the library will be able to follow our teams' progress throughout summer. These bands are a great way to encourage kids to be active and learn that even they can help others around the world. The UNICEF Kid Power bands will be given as prizes at the end of the summer so that kids can continue the task of building a better world. We are so excited to be part of UNICEF Kid Power!
