Oakland County Parks Joins MAP!!!

All, Several weeks ago I posted a "Partner with multiple venues is joining MAP!" teaser to the listservs. At that time there were still a few more i's to be dotted and t's to be crossed before we could reveal the identity of our new MAP partner. Today, I am pleased to share the news that effective April 1, 2024 a total of 11 Oakland County Parks [ https://www.oakgov.com/community/oakland-county-parks/parks-trails | https://www.oakgov.com/community/oakland-county-parks/parks-trails ] venues will go live with the Michigan Activity Pass program! The addition of 11 Oakland County Parks destinations will bring the total number of active MAP destination partner venues to 478. Oakland County Parks will be our third largest MAP partner, after the DNR and Metroparks. Here is a list of the 11 Oakland County Parks destinations that will be available to your MAP patrons beginning April 1, 2024: Addison Oaks County Park Catalpa Oaks County Park Groveland Oaks County Park Highland Oaks County Park Independence Oaks County Park Lyon Oaks County Park Orion Oaks County Park Pontiac Oaks County Park Red Oaks County Park Rose Oaks County Park Waterford Oaks County Park And here are the "Terms of the MAP Pass" for all 11 Oakland County Parks participating destinations: "Good for one day of access to this park. Allows one vehicle to enter. Pass must be printed and left on dashboard in public view for the duration of your visit. Not valid for group events such as weddings and reunions. Not valid for entry to any paid Oakland County Parks programming. Staff reserves the right to deny entry to anyone believed to be abusing the program. Not redeemable for cash or credit toward an Annual Vehicle Pass." Please note that per our agreement with Oakland County Parks, the 11 destinations are currently "shadowed" on the MAP website. Your patrons will not find them in a search of the MAP database until April 1. Perhaps the county parks system in your library's service area would like to join the Michigan Activity Pass program? Feel free to share this pdf [ https://cdn.ymaws.com/tln.org/resource/collection/44340701-D4CD-4F33-88CF-4D... | https://cdn.ymaws.com/tln.org/resource/collection/44340701-D4CD-4F33-88CF-4D... ] with that agency, or with any/all venues you feel would be a good "fits" for MAP. Special thanks to our DNR contact Maia Turek. Maia invited Brigette and I to showcase MAP as exhibitors at a DNR Outdoor Adventure Center event in Detroit. It was at this event that we made the contact with Oakland County Parks. One thing led to another and the next thing you know, Oakland County Parks is joining MAP! Thank you for your continued support and promotion of the Michigan Activity Pass program.
