The Mason County District Library includes facilities in Ludington (expanded and remodeled in 2012) and Scottville (expanded and remodeled in 2002) and serves a population of over 28,000 with a budget of over $900,000 and a staff of five (5) full-time and thirty-one (31) part-time employees. As a district library, the Library is an autonomous governmental unit that has a dedicated millage in perpetuity. The position requires a Masters degree in library science or library and information science from a program accredited by the American Library Association and a* *minimum of four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience post-degree in a professional public library position, of which at least two (2) years have been in a position of administration and supervision in a public library.
