The primary work focus would be on accounts payable and payroll. Human Resource tasks would be clerical in nature. Performs other duties as required. *SUPERVISION RECEIVED* Work is performed under the general supervision of the Business Manager. *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* An employee in this position will be required to assist in the operation of the library by performing any or all of the following essential duties and others as assigned. - Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work in order to ensure compliance with applicable standards; - Maintain confidentiality of all financial and HR data; - Tracking receipt of materials on purchase orders; - Preparing invoices for payment and finalizing payment process after data entry by other staff; - Processing payroll and payroll-related disbursements; - Maintaining invoice and payroll files; - Communicating with vendors for problem resolution; - Assisting Business Manager with various financial and HR related duties; and - Performing related work as required. *KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES* *REQUIRED:* Skill and knowledge of general accounting practices. *REQUIRED:* Excellent mathematical skills. *REQUIRED:* Proficiency with computers and Accounting software. *REQUIRED:* Excellent verbal and written communication skills. *REQUIRED: * Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive. *REQUIRED: * Commitment to working efficiently and accurately. *EDUCATION * *REQUIRED:* Bachelor’s degree. *PREFERRED*: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management. *EXPERIENCE* *REQUIRED:* Three years of related experience. *PREFERRED: *Government accounting experience Although reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions, visual and communication ability is required.
