In August 2024, the Library launched a campaign to build a statewide collection of yearbooks from Michigan high schools, colleges, universities, and vocational schools. During the first year of the project, 3,000 yearbooks were donated. With another year now complete, we've doubled that number to more than 6,000 yearbooks, all either on the shelves or in the processing queue to be cataloged before being added to the collection. This project would not have been possible without the schools, libraries, museums, historical societies, genealogical organizations, and individual donors who have contributed yearbooks to the collection. Each yearbook offers a snapshot of the lives of Michiganders and preserves the stories of communities across our state. We look forward to another year of growing this unique collection.
