Posted on behalf of YALSA Jan. 1 Deadline for YALSA Summer Learning Grants Could your library use funds for 2018 Teen Summer Reading? Dollar General Literacy Foundation and YALSA will be awarding grants totaling $40K to public and school libraries for their summer reading programs. Grants are $1K each. Twenty Summer Learning Resources Grants are targeted toward libraries in need with the purpose of helping them purchase resources or provide services to bolster their teen summer learning programs. Twenty Teen Summer Intern Grants are designed to help teens build job skills while aiding libraries with their summer learning initiatives. Grants will be given to libraries for the purpose of hiring summer teen interns to assist with summer reading activities. Applications are due January 1, 2018.
