
Position: Youth Services Assistant (Part-time) Reports to: Youth Services Coordinator Hourly: $15.75 per hour Benefits: Prorated personal time and holidays. 457-plan after 1st year. Hours: 24-28 hours per week, including days/evenings and weekends The AHPL seeks an enthusiastic candidate with experience working with young children to join our Youth Services team. Qualifications: · High School Diploma or GED. Associate degree and higher desired. · Experience working in a public library desired. · Experience working with outreach to schools desired. · Strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to work independently. · Proficiency with emerging technology. · Ability to maintain effective relationships with staff, and work in a team environment. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Successfully pass a background check & pre-employment screening Primary Job Duties: · Emphasis on service, with strong ability to communicate effectively. · Assist library users at the Youth Services Desk. · Develops and implements creative programs and services for youth · Shares the responsibility for displays and bulletin boards in the youth area. · May attend relevant workshops and meetings. · Perform other duties as assigned by the Youth Services Coordinator Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, bend, and/or walk for extended periods of time. Must be able to reach, and carry books or boxes of books, push book carts, use the telephone, lift, push, pull objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
