Creating Online Finding Aids and Reference Tools for Your Collections Friday, October 25 Presenter: Alexis Braun Marks, Archivist, Eastern Michigan University As part of its 2013 History Skills Workshop Series, the Historical Society of Michigan presents, "Creating Online Finding Aids and Reference Tools for Your Collections," with Eastern University Archivist, Alexis Braun Marks. Creating effective find aids and reference tools can be a real struggle for organizations that do not have trained archivists on staff. This workshop will cover standard formats and best practices for developing these important tools. It will also examine options for making these tools available online. The workshop is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon at the HSM Office at 5815 Executive Dr., Lansing, Michigan. Registration is $39 for members of-or those representing a member organization of-the Historical Society of Michigan. For non-members, registration is $79 and includes a one-year HSM membership.
