Celebrating Novi Public Library's 65th Anniversary
Hello Michigan Library Folks! In recognition and celebration of the Novi Public Library's upcoming 65th Anniversary, the Friends of Novi Public Library is hosting a friendraiser! You have the opportunity to enter a raffle and win this beautiful library/book themed quilt (70 x 80 inches), designed and crafted by quilter Harriet Bruce of Bay Port, Michigan. It includes t-shirts from many past library events, especially summer reading. It is made to look like a book shelf and includes special touches like a vase of flowers, glasses, book worms, an old fashion check-out card and many other details. The colors are wonderfully bright. The quilt is not specific to Novi, but to libraries in general and Michigan. It will be hung on the Library's wall at the Novi Library by the self checkout stations if you are near Novi and want to drop in to see it. The raffle will run until Friday, October 31. Tickets are $10 each, cash or check *ONLY* and will be available at the Library's Circulation Desk. Be sure to fill out your name and phone number clearly. Put the small part of the ticket with your name and phone into the plastic box and keep the larger part. *OR* anyone outside of Novi, can contact Sue Johnson, President of NPL Friends at 248-444-8782 (suejohnson@mi.rr.com) to buy directly. We will have NPL staff at the MLA Conference in two weeks to get you your ticket stubs if you choose to buy a raffle ticket and support our Friends. This is definitely an opportunity we wanted to share across our great state and with library/book lovers. You may want to cuddle up with it or hang it at your Library or in your home. It is a work of art! Thank you, Julie Farkas, Library Director [image: image.png] "I am emailing at a time convenient to me, please do not feel obligated to reply to this email outside of your normal working hours."
Now isn't that a special quilt to celebrate the NPL 65th Anniversary!? If you, like me, loved seeing the CSLP art featured below, and want to do something similar, I have but one reminder! Please ask for consideration of use; it's quite simple to either reach out directly to me or to CSLP's Executive Director if you have a project you plan to launch. Novi Public Library does have permission from CSLP for use of their copyrighted artwork for this warm & cozy quilt. So, if you're looking at creating or selling materials featuring CSLP Artwork or Slogans to support your library, please do follow the CSLP Rules of Use<https://www.cslpreads.org/rules-of-use/> and their Intellectual Property Rules<https://www.cslpreads.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/CSLP-Intellectual-Property-Rules-updated-2024.pdf>. Please let me know if you have any questions. [cid:c8bc8f26-7a50-437e-afc7-7ba3e23aa6be] Thank you, Cathy Lancaster Youth Services Coordinator Library of Michigan 702 W.
