Thanks to everyone who responded to my inquiry! Here's a summary: Of 14 public libraries, 8 are currently calling their desk "Information". 2 call it "Service Desk" which includes information/reference AND circulation. Other names range from Adult Information, Adult Services, Browsing Desk, Reference Desk. Several respondents indicated that they are in the process of rebranding 'reference' and more than one library indicated that 'circulation' is now called 'checkout'. A couple of academic librarians also kindly took the time to respond and their desks tend to have titles such as 'research assistance'. Thanks again everyone -- this was very useful!
