Re: [Michlib-l] Looking for Michigan author recommendations!

He's not an author (yet), but Michigan artist Randy Asplund would be worth considering for a festival of this type. He's an artist who has deeply researched the work of medieval writing, illustration and book production, using authentic natural materials to produce gorgeous illuminated manuscripts and books the same way they were produced in the middle ages. He's also done a number of illustrations for Magic: the Gathering and contemporary book covers, which might appeal to the non-historical set. He's an experienced public presenter as well. Check out his website for more details: http://www.randyasplund.com/index.html He's reportedly working on a book about medieval manuscripts and illumination, which I greatly look forward to.
