Recognition for Ypsilanti and TALK!

The Ypsilanti District Library is thrilled to have been named a recipient of the 2019 John Cotton Dana Library Public Relations Award! http://www.ala.org/news/member-news/2019/05/john-cotton-dana-library-public-... The award recognizes our work to create TALK: Text and Learn for Kindergarten, a free text messaging service delivering ideas for activities that build early literacy skills to parents of children 5 and under in Washtenaw County. More information about TALK can be found at www.texttolearn.com<http://www.texttolearn.com>. Tremendous thanks to our TALK partners: Dexter District Library, Milan Public Library, Northfield Township Area Library, Saline District Library, Washtenaw Literacy, Washtenaw Intermediate School District, Washtenaw Success by Six and Great Start Collaborative, the Washtenaw County Sheriff, and Children's Literacy Network. Your help developing text content and marketing the service to under-resourced families across the county was invaluable. TALK is funded in part with a Library Services and Technology Act grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Library of Michigan. Thank you to the Library of Michigan for supporting this meaningful project. It's our "baby" and we're very proud of it!
