Dr. Bajjaly will join the ALISE Board of Directors as president-elect in February 2018 at the annual conference in Denver and assume the presidency in 2019. Christine D'Arpa co-authored an article for a special issue of Library Trends entitled, "What's History Got to Do with It? Seventy Years of Historical Dissertation Research at the School of Information Sciences of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (Library Trends 65/4).” Laura Sheble had her work published in the November/December 2017 issue of American Scientist. The article "The Persistence and Peril of Misinformation<https://wayne.us15.list-manage.com/track/click?u=71069e78b2e149adc34550c95&id=1d56ad2fe0&e=bd7a7978c7>" was co-authored with Brian G. Southwell and Emily A. Thorson. The article focuses on the problem of misinformation in media and is adapted from their introductory chapter in the forthcoming book Misinformation and Mass Audiences. Student Updates Shatha Baydoun has been selected to represent the Wayne State University School of Information Sciences at the 2018 ALA Annual Conference in New Orleans as part of the ALA Student-to-Staff Program. Shannon McDermitt, M.L. Lenox and Kendra E.
