Effects of the Federal Government Shutdown

• Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) operations SHOULD NOT be affected by the shutdown
  • USAC is not funded by federal appropriation
  • However, USAC is dependent on the FCC for higher level decision-making and there may be delays.
• The FCC will continue to authorize E-Rate Payments and the US Treasury will continue to make the payments
• FCC action on outstanding E-Rate appeals and pending policy decisions will not progress until after the federal government resumes business
