POSITION: Librarian Reference Substitute. Substitutes have no set schedule and primarily work weekends or other times as needed. No minimum hours are guaranteed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 18 credit hours towards an MLIS or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited library school, including collection development class and/or reference class; public library experience preferred; demonstrated competency with information technology including eMedia, electronic resources, online catalogs, the Internet, social media sites, mobile devices, etc.; knowledge of library materials, reference service, popular literature, readers’ advisory; ability to deal effectively with the public in a tactful, courteous manner; excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills.

SALARY RANGE: MLIS Student: $18.00 per hour (Monday-Saturday) and $19.00 per hour (Sunday). Librarian (MLIS degree obtained): $20.00 per hour (Monday-Saturday) and $21.00 per hour (Sunday).
