Part1: Library Trustee 101- November 12, 10:00am-11:00am This session will be an introduction to being a Library Trustee. What to know, who to ask and how to avoid pitfalls. This session will cover the basic information newly
appointed or elected library trustees should know in order to begin their tenure governing a public library.
Participants in this session will :
1)Learn the duties and responsibilities of Library Trustees
2) Understand the library's role as a public entity.
3) Know where to find additional information and answers to questions that they may have as they adjust to their new positions.

Part2: Library Trustee 102- Advanced Trustees- November 19, 10:00am-11:00am This session will build on the information in "Library Board 101" and discuss topics such as handling board discord, member recruitment, officer duties
and more. As the governing body of a public library, library trustees often have to handle situations involving personnel, public finance, politics, and other issues that could have significant consequences if dealt with incorrectly. This session will delve
into board responsibilities and limits with respect to governing these situations, and a trustee's relationship and responsibility towards the Director, staff, the friends' group, their municipality and their fellow board members.
Participants in this webinar will:
1)Learn the requirements of the Open Meetings Act and why it is important.
2)Explore trustee responsibilities with respect to personnel, public finance and politics.
3)Obtain tips on building and maintaining good relationships with the director and fellow board members.
