Library Director Job Posting The Pigeon District Library Board is seeking an experienced and visionary LibraryDirector to lead our library in providing exceptional services to thecommunity. This full-time leadership position whichreports directly to the Board of Trustees requires a dynamic individualwith strong organizational, financial, and technological skills to overseelibrary operations, staff, and programming. Key Responsibilities - Manage daily library operations, including staff supervision, budgeting, financial records and facilities. - Develop and implement in conjunction with the library board strategic goals, policies, and programs that enhance library services. - Oversees the safety and maintenance of the library building and grounds. - Oversee financial planning including preparing and managing the library’s budget, financial reporting, and grant opportunities. - Maintains the library collections. - Ensure the library remains a welcoming and accessible resource for all patrons. - Maintain and enhance technology resources to support library operations and community engagement. - Develop and implement effective marketing strategies. - Foster partnerships with local organizations, schools, and stakeholders to expand library services. - Represent the library in the community and at professional meetings. Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Business Administration, or related field. - Strong organizational, leadership, marketing and communication skills. - Experience in a public library setting, particularly in financial management, budgeting, and program development. - Proficiency in library technologies, digital resources, and operational software. - Ability to engage with the community and advocate for library services. Compensation Position is a fulltime role, requiring a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Salary rangebetween $45,000 and $70,000 based on experience and qualifications.
