We set up a new business account for our library last week. It wasn't very difficult. There was one thing that wasn't clearly spelled out on the Amazon site which might help someone else. If you have several people doing orders off of your business account, and they use their own payment methods, they each need to go through the tax-free setup process. Also, our city treasurer preferred to have us upload the Michigan tax form to Amazon (form 3372). By default, the Amazon site has you walk through an online process, but on the first screen there's a way to bail out of that and upload the document instead. Amazon approved the form within 24 hours, so they're quick even with the scanned forms. Bruce A. MacDonald Assistant Director / Head of Circulation Peter White Public Library Marquette, Michigan

Michigan Libraries - Amazon will start charging sales tax in Michigan on October 1. If you have let them know of your state sales tax exemption, what was the procedure? Do they require a mailed document? Can you just tell them the tax exemption number? Helen
