Youth Services Coordinator (Part-Time)

The Allegan District Library is looking for a dynamic, creative, and hardworking person to become a member of our team and serve our community. Join us as the library transitions to a new, larger, library space as part of the ADL Library Improvement Project.

Job Description:  Key Responsibilities Include:

• Selecting, planning, organizing, marketing, and supervising a variety of fun, engaging and developmentally appropriate programs for children and teens that encourage literacy, learning and curiosity.
  
• Researches, selects, and orders print materials for children and teens
  
• Collaborates with and represents the library within the community, with local schools, on children's services committees, and serves as a liaison to community agencies serving children.

Part Time & Hours: 30 hours per week including day, evening, and weekend hours.
 
Requirements:  The ideal candidate will have an understanding of and experience working with youth and will be creative, tech savvy and community focused.  Experience in an educational or library setting as well as knowledge of children’s literature is a plus.
 
Qualifications:  Minimum of a High School Diploma and two years’ experience working with children and teens. A Bachelor’s degree is desired.
 
Salary: A range of $11.00 to $16.00 dependent upon qualifications and experience.
