
JOB POST Position: Library Director Location: 100 Brown St. Clinton, MI 49236 Terms: Part time, about 30 hours per week Compensation: The hiring salary range is $40,000 – $45,000 (negotiable dependent upon experience and qualifications) Description The Clinton Township Public Library Board of Trustees seeks an accessible, energetic and enthusiastic leader to be the voice of the library in the community and serve as its next Library Director. A Class 1 library in north Lenawee County, Clinton Library is governed by an elected panel of six Trustees and boasts a small but mighty staff that prides itself on its creative, well-attended programming for patrons of all ages. Key initiatives include promoting the library to all generations of lifelong learners, working with the board to review and revise library policy, helping the library keep pace with technological trends, and leading and supporting staff through active communication and collaboration. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a collaborative leadership style, and knowledge of current trends and best practices in library management. Qualifications A minimum of two years of relevant public library experience, a Level 3 Library Staff Certification or higher from the Library of Michigan (or the qualifications to obtain one within six months of hire), completion of New Director’s and Advanced Director’s courses through the Library of Michigan (or the ability to complete within six months of hire), and demonstrated success in a leadership position. Prior public library administration experience and an ALA-accredited master’s degree in Library Science not required but recommended.
