A few weeks ago, the President of the Library's Friends group hosted a yard sale and donated all the profits to the Friends of the Library.

In total, she raised just under $1,400!

She marketed the yard sale as a fundraiser, which helped spread the word. Instead of setting prices, she asked for payment via donation, encouraging more generous giving.

She made the Friends' PayPal & Venmo QR codes available, in addition to accepting cash payments.

This was a yard sale she was already planning on having, so it cost her no more time or effort than a typical yard sale.

We were so impressed and excited by her idea and the amount she managed to raise. We are hoping this idea comes to mind when other members of the Friends are prepping future yard sales.
