Leap Into Science

The Detroit Zoological Society, the Library of Michigan, and the Michigan Afterschool Partnership are excited to announce Leap into Science training opportunities for public libraries and afterschool partners. Participating public libraries and afterschool program partners will receive support to purchase materials you need to run a “Light & Shadow” based STEM program. Registration will be limited, so be sure to complete this interest form by end of day, Friday, August 13th, for a chance to be selected. 

 

2021 Noche de Cuentos Mini-Grants Program

REFORMA will award 8 mini-grants of $300 to support a Noche de Cuentos program during Latino Heritage Month, September 15 - October 15, 2021.

Public libraries, academic libraries, school libraries, and community organizations in the United States including Puerto Rico are eligible to apply.

Applications must be received by 11:59 PM (PST) on July 25, 2021.

The Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services (ABOS) is currently seeking submissions for Book Bike Week, our weeklong celebration of everything with pedals and pages. If your Library has a Book Bike (or trike, or unicycle) used for library outreach, we want to see it! Library of Congress: new book on Japanese Culture as depicted in American children’s books

Sybille Jagusch, chief of the Library's Literature Center, has just published "Japan and American Children's Books," a gorgeously illustrated volume that details how Japan and Japanese culture has been portrayed in American children's books over the past two centuries.
