Hi Laura, et. Al., Here is a link to gain permission for using the term “StoryWalk®” with information on how to put one together: * StoryWalk® was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and has developed with the help of Rachel Senechal, formerly of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. If you are interested in having a StoryWalk® in your community, see our FAQs at the bottom of the page<https://kellogghubbard.org/programs-events/storywalk/>. (FAQ’s have the statement and trademark information). * Boston Childrens Museum’s “Take a Hike! Building Skills Through StoryWalk®” guidebook was very helpful but now the link I had to that is failing. Perhaps someone out there downloaded a copy and saved it? * WebJunction has a good blog post and resources: https://www.webjunction.org/news/webjunction/storywalk-partnership.html I've seen StoryWalks along paths in the park set far-apart, and others closer together. It all depends on how much space you have for installation. I believe you typically need 18-20 stands depending on the length of the picture book (typically 32 pages, plus cover, copyright info, etc). Please report suspicious emails via the "Report to Abuse" button in Outlook Hi everyone; We are working with our city to install a permanent Story Walk in one of our local parks. If your library has been part of the installation of a Story Walk, I would love to get your recommendations. We are looking at the kind that are installed on posts with displays that open to change stories. 1. What company did you use to purchase the Story Walk? 2. How many stations did you install? 3. How long was the walk that the Story Walk was installed at? 4. Any other recommendations, comments, etc. (The good, the bad, and the ugly!) Thanks for your help! -Laura Orlowski, Library Director Jonesville District Library 517-849-9701 info@jonesvilledistrictlibrary.org<mailto:info@jonesvilledistrictlibrary.org>
