The Neighborhood Library Association (NLA) is pleased to announce the selection of their sixth annual Community Reads book, Lisette’s List, by New York Times bestselling author Susan Vreeland. The novel is an intergenerational story about art, love and war set in Provence, and is part historical fiction, part art history and part travelogue. Each of the five libraries that comprise the NLA will host book discussions and book-related events, culminating in an author visit on November 17 at Novi Public Library. Participating NLA libraries are Lyon Township Public Library, Northville District Library, Novi Public Library, Salem-South Lyon District Library and Wixom Public Library. Everyone is welcome to attend these Community Reads events at the five area NLA libraries: Creative Collaging on Thursday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Lyon Township Public Library; Impressionism: Beneath the Brushstrokes on Wednesday, October 21 at 7 p.m. at Northville District Library; Autumn Colors Painting Party on Thursday, November 5 at 6 p.m. at Wixom Public Library; Get Inspired with Pinterest on Thursday, November 5 at 6:30 pm at Novi Public Library; DIY Ladies’ Night: Light It Up! on Thursday, November 5 at 7 pm at Salem-South Lyon District Library; and Meet the Author: Susan Vreeland on Tuesday, November 17 at 7 p.m. at Novi Public Library.
