Basics of Cataloging Instructor
Continuing Education Services at the iSchool at UW-Madison is seeking an instructor for Basics of Cataloging. This is an 8-week asynchronous online continuing education course. This instructor will begin teaching in the fall of 2025 – the course dates are somewhat
flexible pending the instructor’s availability. This course is typically offered twice per year; once in the fall and once in the summer. We are seeking a fall instructor but are open to someone teaching both sessions, twice per year. The iSchool will provide
training and technical support for the instructor. Familiarity with online teaching or learning is an asset, but not required. The iSchool uses Canvas as our learning management system.
Ideal candidates:

At minimum, must hold a Bachelor’s degree;

Able to work on course development during the summer 2025 and teach starting in September or October 2025;

Well-versed in the required content topics covered in the course (outlined below);

Legally authorized to work in the United States;

Experience with instruction is preferred, but not required.

Salary: The instructor will receive $2,200 each time they teach the course. The instructor will receive an additional one-time $880 development payment the first time the course is offered.
