As many libraries and schools pivot back to virtual, just a quick reminder that some publishers ended their permissions for virtual storytimes, so proceed with caution especially with any recordings. Be sure to check each publisher’s website for specifics on the titles you are using in virtual programming.

Here are some resources, but remember you must check the publisher’s website, as things are changing rapidly:

• LM’s guide on Copyright and Streaming Storytime
• MeL’s EBSCO eBooks are still available for public libraries to use in virtual programming, just no recordings.
• MeL’s PebbleGo video clips are available to everyone in the state, again no recordings.
• Sleeping Bear Press does allow for publicly posted videos, with acknowledgment, as long as they are deleted by June 30, 2022.
• The Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Books and Media group: you may use any HMH title in the following ways until June 30, 2022.
• Harper Collins Permissions for Online Story Time/Events are also through June 30, 2022.
• Holiday House allows posts to remain for 30 days, with acknowledgment.
• MacMillan has granted permission through March 31, 2022.
• Penguin House extended through March 31, 2022.
• Simon & Schuster recordings allowed through March 31, 2022.
