Michigan’s early aeronautic pioneers daringly mixed entertainment and engineering. Whether they were acrobatic balloonists like the Herrguth Brothers or pilots like Donald “The Birdman” McGee, these aeronaut “professors” put their experiments to the test in front of captivated crowds in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Jillian Reese, curator of exhibits at the Michigan History Center, is here to enlighten us on this 19th century crazy that swept the state. Tao here to register
