Responsibilities of the Position:
Under general administrative direction, develops, maintains, and provides library services for children, including but not limited to the following tasks:
1. Maintains and develops a library collection focused on children.
2. Plans, schedules, implements, and publicizes activities for children.
3. Coordinates activities with local schools to provide an interest in programs and disseminate information to children.
4. Acts as a liaison between the library and school systems and other local and regional Children library committees.
5. Works with volunteers to enhance library offerings for children.
6. Solicits funds and promotes donations for children’s activities.
7. Develops displays and promotional materials for child related information and programming.
8. Maintains a working knowledge of library trends for children.
9. Participates in Children’s Services desk assignments.
