Hello Friends,

The next FOML Spring Workshop/inaugural Fred Ruffner Symposium is called "Community Engagement: How Friends Can Promote the Value of Your Library" and it's coming up on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at the Rochester Hills Public Library!

Topics include:
  • "Telling Your Library Story" by our Fred Ruffner Symposium speaker John Pelegrino from Gale/Cengage Learning
  • "Success Stories: How Our Friends Promoted Our Millage" with Doreen Hannon from Friends of the Salem-South Lyon Library
  • and Kris Rzepczynski, Archivist at the Archives of Michigan, speaking about "Our Michigan Archives"

FOML will also hold the annual meeting for the membership and present the 2014 Outstanding Friends of the Library Merit Awards. These workshops are a great time to network with other Friends groups, tour the Rochester Hills Public Library, and spend a day learning how to support your library!

A workshop registration form and the agenda is attached to this message. If you aren't able to download the forms, you can register online here or contact Linda Pierce at LPierce1@kettering.edu or (810) 762-9840.

Would you like to also attend the Trustee Alliance workshop (with special guest speaker Sarah Ann Long) on Friday, April 24th? I have included that form too, or you can register online here.

Remember, 2015 FOML members receive a discount. (I have attached at membership form, in case you haven't renewed yet) And if you want to attend BOTH workshops, you save even more.

I hope to see you at the FOML Friends Spring Workshop and (very first) Fred Ruffner Symposium!

Paul Snyder, President
