Okay, not actually about unusual books, though maybe.

We are playing with the idea of having a book/reading group where people would just come for coffee/treats and to discuss whatever they have been reading.   So not the usual everyone reads the same book and meets to discuss it, but a way to share and generate enthusiasm for books/reading in general.

Has anyone had any experience with this type of gathering?  Did it work/not work?  What factors contributed to its success or lack thereof?  

Happy to compile responses offline and share with anyone else interested.
