Hello, Michigan library community!

There are several opportunities to see Great Michigan Read author Curtis Chin in SE Michigan during the week ahead. Join us for the following events!

You can find additional details about Friday and Sunday’s events on the Detroit Bookfest website.

Additionally, Orion Township Public Library is brining Curtis Chin to their community at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 24, and you can find more details via the library’s Facebook event page.

As you know, federal funding cuts have impacted numerous Michigan Humanities grants and programs. The Great Michigan Read is funded in part by private dollars and planning is underway to launch a reimagined 2025-26 program. Registration will be announced later this summer. In the meantime, please fill out this inquiry form if you are interested in receiving updates.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and we hope to see you soon at an upcoming event!
