The newly-remodeled East Lansing Public Library (ELPL) is seeking a dynamic, part-time Youth Services Specialist with a strong knowledge of children’s, tween and teen services; and of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) programming. We seek someone with strong customer service skills, experience working with diverse communities, a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, and an interest in developing new skills.

 

Our Youth Services Specialist will work with the ELPL Youth Services Team to develop creative STEAM, maker, technology-centered, and literacy-based children’s, tween and teen programming. We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience organizing and running events with an interest in youth literature and education. The Youth Services Specialist will maintain contact and cultivate relationships with the public, schools, teachers and community organizations for educational and promotional purposes relating to the ELPL’s children’s services.
