Digital Services Librarian
Position: Youth and Adult Services Digital Services Librarian
Supervisor: Youth Services Manager
Salary: $40,291
Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, including up to two evenings a week and every other Saturday.

Primary Job Duties:
· Works with Youth Services, Adult Services, and Outreach Services departments to provide digital services, reference assistance, and reader’s advisory.
· Performs collection development and maintenance for electronic and digital content, including subscription reference databases, digital services such as Zinio, Freegal, and Hoopla, and ebooks and e-audiobooks for all departments.
· Provides comprehensive reference and reader's’ advisory service to individuals and groups of all ages, especially children and teens, both inside and outside the library.
· Assists with collection development and maintenance for physical collections as assigned.
· Plans and implements library-oriented programming, especially tech programs.
· Provides technology instruction to patrons and staff, including e-reader and tablet use, and the use of electronic resources, including databases, ebooks, e-audiobooks, downloadable music, downloadable magazines, and streaming media, one-on-one and in a group setting.
· Participates in relevant committees.
· Stays up to date on new and emerging technologies that would be appropriate for library use.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Required
Qualifications:
· Master’s degree in Library Science
· Desire to meet the public and serve patrons of all ages
· Robust range of Internet and technology skills and experience
· Skill in planning and presenting appropriate programs for young children, teens, and adults
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels
· Familiarity with literature for all ages
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· High level of energy and self-motivation to create new services and programs
· Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends in order to implement programming
Desired Characteristics
· Awareness of new developments and trends in public libraries
· Knowledge of online information resources, computers, software programs (Windows, Microsoft Office products and email) and integrated library systems (Polaris)
