Hi all,
Class 3 library here. We've had an outside company do our accounting for the last 5ish years. We've switched companies a couple times due to numerous mistakes and deadline issues and are most likely parting ways with our current company at the end of the year. While I do have a certificate in library financial management, the board is worried that me taking it all on will be overwhelming on top of the other projects we're working on (plus having another set of eyes is nice for internal controls).
Besides switching companies again or having me takeover the accounting, the board is also wanting to look into hiring a bookkeeper for a few hours a month. Have any similar sized libraries done this? How did it go? What did it look like for you? Thanks!
